Quick Mapei Fiberplan Question

The datasheet says to prime ply with Mapei primer, either Eco Prim T, or Mapeprim SP.

I still have a couple of litres of Bal Bond left over. Any problems with priming using the BAL stuff?

Lastly, I have used Silicon where the ply sheets join on the floor. Will Fiberplan be safe to go over the Silicon?

You should be able to use the SBR no problem just use it the same as you would for BAL addy.

And if you can't get the primer they recommend......?

:yikes: Eeerm may work, but if it fails to adhere you would get no recompense from Mapei

Not disputing that mate.
Just said that if push came to shove and slc failed he would get no back up from Mapei.

the reason i know is ive done the same and it failed and mapei were very helpful although i was at fault

its a chemical thing way above my head they did tell me the reason but facts like that just dont stay in my head

Quite interesting - I have for a long time kept it to the advised combinations as a rule and always where it was valuble work, but I would have thought that a like primer would have sufficed in a tight spot - bad luck that it had a failure for you, mind you thats how we all have learnt along the way I guess.
I use Fiberplan - great slc - and have used the correct primers too, mind you on the point of 'can you get hold of it' - even Boydens (large stockholders) didnt have it to hand, and werent too sure straight away what was what with the new genration of primers. Ordered it up fast enough, but this is where mistakes could creep in if it's a can't wait situation.
