I have a job to do soon, I am ripping out two units on an Industrial estate, the spec is to leave the building as was when new. At the moment the floor is tiled, about 140 mtrs, I intend to remove all the tiles. Is there an SLC that will leave the floor strong enough for pallet trucks etc or will a screed be the best bet?

I might have to get the floor painted as well.

Weber do a SLC suitable for fork lift traffic.
Weber.niv dur.

  • Fibre modified for increased resilience can be pump fed for largeer areas

I put a post on here a couple of weeks ago with a load of info on the Mapei SLCs. I dont know how to add a link to it but if you can find it, you can have a look though and see which one youd want to use.
That is if you wanted to use Mapei.

Its going to be about 8 to 10mm, my only concern is if it has to be painted in the future? Would it take paint? I have laid loads of SLC but never been asked if they can be painted.

So you want the SLC to be the final finish that the forklifts can drive over.

Not suitable IMHO..

Hope your not doing that by hand:yikes: or is the 140m in a couple of areas?

Thats one I havnt had to know before to be honest.

Dave are you saying that the mapei SLC are not suitable as a finished surface, as a surface to be painted or both?

Diamond Id be on the phone to Mapei, Im sure they will do something to suit as their products span across the entire building industry not just tiling products. That way they can point you in the right direction and you can find out which SLC they will gaurantee. Can you let me know what you go for? Would be interested to know.
