Afternoon all............

I am prepping a floor to take tiles. It is a screeded floor with ancient vinyl floor tiles that need to come up. Removing the old tiles reveals a black bitumen type adhesive. I have been informed that it is not a good idea to tile over this bitumen substance as the addy won't stick to it. Is this true? I would ideally prefer to avoid scraping the stuff off and just tile over it. Would a good rapid, flexi addy suffice? Any advice appreciated.:dozey:
