Selflevelling cracking

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Thanks for your replyMark but this was done by screeding company and would have expected they would have carried out the correct procedures prior to laying the SLC.
The home owner has spoken to them and I am hoping they will go and inspect it next.

Yes I agree but sadly you do come across a lot of prep work done wrong , my flooring company will not and does not carry out any works unless all there proceses are followed through . Hope gets sorted for them

The floor has now been inspected by the contractor and in his view there is nothing wrong and to just dig out the cracks and fill with resin but if not happy with the worse part he would provide 2 bags of SLC for me to redo it.
Had a call Wednesday night saying if you walk on parts you can hear it moving so went to see for myself at 8pm and and yes it is.
There is now lipage to the depth of a steel ruler between some parts."as photo"
The owner spoke with the technical department of who's product had supposedly been used and in their view it hasn't bonded to the bitumen/asphalt sub floor .
It now appears these cracks are now on 75% of the floor and I have informed the customer there is no way I would tile over it

I had informed the customer that was my view also but it won't be happening now as they have to move in on the 10th so they will need to find an alternative floor covering

Not sure what they are thinking of but my mate the joiner seems to think they will go for laminate.
There is a lot of work been done in the property that I and a lot of others wouldn't have accepted but they have but as not heard from the customer since Thursday I don't know what they plan regarding the floor and putting it right, and would now be difficult as kitchen base units and an island are fitted .

The 'screeding' company if you want to grace them with that title are an absolute disgrace and should be named and shamed!

Agreed name them so if others see this they can tell customer it's not first time they have seen it with this company .
