Shower fittings dont want to go back on

I was tilling a shower today and I couldn't wait to finish-the client had already mentioned the grout looking a bit grey at one edge of one wall ( Mapei white ). I dont know whether it was shadow or hadn't dried out yet ( it had been about 24hrs). I'd got to the part where I was putting the shower fittings back on and they refuse to go back on :mad2:
I had taken mosaic tiles off the wall and have replaced them with white ceramic tiles. It didn't occur that there might be a problem because of depth.
It seems like the solution is either to get an extension for the shower control - apparently there is one for this Hansgrohe fitting or to take tiles off and tile around fitting.
Has anyone got any ideas on this ?

I guess I'll just have to take the tiles off and re-cut the opening for the plate that hides the mixer valve or whatever it's called- it would be easier than getting a plumber- and that would involve quite a bit of extra cost. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

"get extensions dont tile around:8:"
In this situation who would be responsible for buying the extensions ?

depends on what your quote was for if you talk to client you may be able to agree on a solution :8:
