Greetings, any of you guys use a battery powered Silicon gun? Keep seeing them about and want to know if they are worth having.

yeah i have seen them too but never used one. Interesting but i would take a guess at the outcome

Yeah that was my thought, my partner has used air line guns before for HUGE jobs and they are meant to be good but I wanted a bit of feed back on the batt guns before I went out and wasted my cash...

I think any powered gun would be ok on large jobs but not really for sealing around a bath. I noticed the Ryobi one is particularly bulky IMO

Although it seems to be favoured Here

they take some getting used to but they can be pretty accurate once your used to it

i used someones to see what it was like and quickly decided i prefer to feel the pressure of a gun

he was ace at it , you dont need to pause to reset the trigger so you can get a very good bead without interuption

we were using with caulk not Silicon, i should imagine it would be tricky to get the angles right behind bath taps etc

The best gun IMHO, is a cheapo plastic one from B & Q for £3, unlike the spring loaded metal ones that keep feeding if you stop, the plastic one stops when you take your finger off the trigger, so you can pause midway and restart without lifting the gun.

I like them at any rate

Same one I use Alan

I wouldn't mind having a go with battery powered one just to see what they are like!
