Was called last night by a lady in tears pleading me for help with her wet room. Basically a maintenance man has made a complete hash of it. I went there today, took some pics and will be quoting with a view to rectify in around 5-6 months time. I've advised her to contact Trading standards and commence a small claims. She has pleaded with them to return & rectify but they refused. The writing in chalk is the customers!

Tile on tile, no tanking and no fall in the floor, in fact it slopes away from the drain to the toilet!!

I've just had the best day in ages.... a sequence of chance opportunities!

Spent this morning having a very productive meeting with a interior designer who has agreed for me to install 2 wet rooms for his client later in the year.
Whilst driving home I was called by a lady wanting a shower enclosure tiled. She happened to be 2 minutes away from where I was so I quoted her.
As I left her I received another call from an old dear wanting a small splashback tiled next month. She lives 5 minutes from my house so I popped in there quickly.
Home for lunch with wife and kids (half term). Wife's friend called and we went out with her for a long walk in the forest. Whilst out, my brother calls to say he has been given tickets to see Chris Hadfield (the famous Canadian astronaut) in Southampton in the evening.

So just got back home after seeing this amazing guy give an inspirational and interesting talk about himself, space and finished off with this number......

Night all :)

So today was my impromptu meeting with the director of BCT. It went pretty well for a first meeting. He bought along Starbucks coffee and we stood outside in the freezing cold whilst it was snowing and chatted. We talked about the issues raised in the BCT thread and no excuses were given which was refreshing. He said that they really are looking into the matters and this is what promoted his visit to Devon to the factory to get some answers. He spoke about what they as a company are doing to improve their relationship with fixers to gain that invaluable feedback and ultimately to better themselves and their reputation, and the meeting with myself will be one of many yet to come.

I have invited BCT to openly join the forum as a 'company support' account and answer questions when raised.

This was a great first meeting and a step in the right direction for us tilers!

Tanking with a 7kg bucket of paste and an old tanking bucket with water and sponge next to it to clear any splatter off the shower tray.
Full on plunged my sponge and both hands into the tanking paste by accident, then I did it again 10 minutes later!

Anyway it’s his pound and I’m just the monkey to get on with it!
