Built by George Barris in the early '70's, The Snakepit at 23' long was originally built to challenge for the land speed record. An impossible task in reality, but it didn't stop Barris from trying. Incorporated engine wise are 6, yes 6 Ford Cobra engines, each displacing 32 cu in. for a total of 2000 horse power; that's 96 valves to be synchronized, 48 spark plugs firing in unison, 12 holley four barrel carburetors, 6 cragar transistorised distributors and 48 chromed exhaust pipes. Featuring two Ford C-6 automatic transmissions and a pair of Pontiac rear ends. It is controlled by the pilot using two Moon gas pedals, feeding fuel carried aboard in Moon aluminium tanks; a custom steering wheel and a Hurst dual pattern shifter. The engines, which have been super tuned to perfection, included among their speciality equipment, Moon racing camshafts, dual quad manifolds and valve covers by Edelbrock, and a variety of Ford and Autolite high performance gear. The car never actually moved an inch in anger and is now sat on a trailer in a private garage. The other cars in this collection will be going on display when they have been restored.

This and other cars in a collection were brought back from an underground supermarket carpark in Cannes, 3 years ago after being 'hidden away' for 12 years.

The trike (in photo 3), The Sidewinder has aircraft wheels on the side. Generally these kind of motors are shown at shows in Europe, they go mad for them over there!

I love my bikes, usually get away for a few weekends with my brothers each year. Got a model heli, but I'm not very good with it yet... still in the crashing stage at the moment, but then I don't get much practise time with it either

Metal detecting, then selling what I find on the net! or to some folks I know......:yikes:

Found some nice bits over the years, still waiting for that BIG find.:drool5:

The nicest thing I found was a Victorian six penny piece, looked like it just came of the press, got 40 notes for it. Found loads of Saxon and Roman figurines but always broken. Found this lovely Roman bronze coin, very big, thought I had won the jackpot, finally got 10 notes! Its a funny old life.

Indoor and outdoor Rock climbing ...
