Some customers

or seen as im such a contributor (and obviously not a customer) maybe I should be set free into the unknown pmsl!

As soon as you have your business up and running, you'll be straight in. Keep plugging away and you will be rewarded.

well I have a 3 day business course in December and then when I feel ready I think I can get up to £1,000 and carry on signing on for 13 weeks.... but that wont be yet and £1,000 wont even get me a van and 12 months insurance never mind all the decent tools I need pmsl!

sorry I am stealing the post I will revert back to my rock now lol

If I'm supplying the tiles, which I like to, why wouldn't you want to earn an extra couple of hundred quid on a bathroom for making a phone call and organising delivery. I also don't even order the tiles until I have received full amount for them.

Dependant upon how many metres will determine if I want a deposit for labour and other materials. You need to cover your costs. Fortunately I have never been caught out with non-payment from customer, but then again, I don't sub to builders

See you enn tea ess.

That's what. Already told you guys about the dr... The respected member of the community. 5 weeks of prep leading to a text cancelling 100m2 the day before. With my mother dying and constant travel to manchester he has royally done me over.

Absolute see you enn tea

where do small businesses like us stand in regards to this?

say you have a job like cam low has just described and no deposit was taken but a written agrrement was made regarding the job through emails and booked in.

can the customer be taken to court for loss of earnings? its surely a contracted agreement if its in writing

any opinions

cam, just make an appointment with the good dr at his workplace and run out his room screaming blue murder that hes touched your front bottom, considering you were just in to see him about a throat infection im not sure itl go down too well !!😉

or is that taking things too far 😉

My sisters a contract lawyer. Im thinking of taking him to the cleaners but you know I just can't be arsed. Im back in manchester for the second time this week. Shattered. Sick. Tired. Just want it to go away. If I see him I'd kick seven shades of sh*t out of him.

Ps yes I could take him. Emails agreeing to prices T&c's etc etc is a binding contract.

Shes writing me an invoice worded ever so nicely to bill him for my time used in the previous 5 weeks.

I was at his house til 10:45pm one evening. Even had to put up with his hound of a wife breastfeeding feeding in front of me. Ffs

Its very rare that I take a deposit I only supply adhesive, grout and trim always let the customer get the tiles, but after the chap doing the dirty on me,I think its time to get a bit up front before I start,I do not know if some of you read the thread I posted about ,Topps giving bad advice regarding the chipboard floor well that's the chap who has stitched me,gave him a lot of advice on where he was going wrong and helped him with plenty of good advice and he just wasted my time.
