Something to ponder on a Sunday afternoon.

I'm just confused now, it's Sunday night and I've had a bottle of wine already. I've just noticed there are fewer Nana's in line three and the cookie has less chocolate chips, however the two permutations I can arrive at there, 35 and 50 and have already been guessed.

Sometimes Maths just fries my noodle.

So to that end I'd eat the banana's and the cookie which leaves you with a clock which is worth 3. So the answer is three and I've had Cookies and Banana.

Assuming I've read the times correctly as 3pm and 2pm and we have 10 and 7 choc drops then its 10.

It's that stupid American way of bracketing when there are no brackets.
They've ruined the English language and now it's mathematics (US "math") 😡

We were taught BIDMAS rather than "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". Don't quite know where it was invented though.

Well I had to Google BODMAS, I was certainly not taught this at school (I'm 50 next year). I was taught everything in brackets first, then work the sum left to right.
Yep, all new to me too Alan.
I just saw the puzzle elsewhere and it created a great response, hence my plagiarism 😀

I saw a similar thing before and I think young Mr Benton mentioned BODMAS and that was the first time in my 56 years on this planet that I'd ever heard of it.

Well in my few Google searches about this today it appears there can be two answers to the same equation depending if you use BODMAS or not. I've not even started to figure out when you do or don't apply it.

PEMSAS is what they teach at my daughter's school but those puzzles drive me insane.
The simple calculator in windows would get 3 + 2 * 5 wrong and produce 13.
