20-30m is easy enough done on a good floor, couldn't do a 20m bathroom in a day though unless it's straightforward walls with bumpy whites.

I have never quoted a mtr rate to any customer, there are too many variables to do that imo.

In contrast I only charge per m2 if it's more than 10m2 job.
And 20-30m2 a day is not easy Peter, it's a damn hard work. Ask my knees and my back

Been there done that, No each tiler gets paid for what they do in terms of m2. I aint subbing anyone else's wages.
If they work side by side on a large floor for instance then ok but not while one works and the other plays labourer.

at the time i handent tiled a wall for 15 years and only did large floors and before i had a stroke now i only do brick slips i have slowed down a little ask Alan P

Hey all, be careful quoting £300 to £400 a day. As we know great if you get a good commercial floor, all well and good, but for the majority of domestic work this is not achievable based on the m2 prices given above Take an average bathroom 18.5 metres, 4 to 5 holes to cut out with one window to be fully tiled and a couple of external angles in 60 x 30 porcelain which seems popular currently. Firstly your day begins getting the tiles on site and say the £25 per m2 include addy and grout? this is gives you £425. I am struggling to see how you can achieve this in one day, grouted polished off and everything cleaned down ON YOUR OWN! Realistically if you are providing the adhesive and grout let's say that an average a cost is circa £50 and probably more dependent on what products you use. This immediately gets you down to £375.00. Even if it takes you say a day and 1/2 the rest of the second day is usually non productive so really the £375 is divided by 2 given £187.50. I hope this Puts some sense into the thread as site work @ £20 you would need to be achieving 40 metres a day WALL TILING at £20 again on your own!

no you are all missing the point i am not saying i charge £400 a day what i am saying are some tilers worth £150 a day and some should only be £70 a day with what they produce or should they give up ?
