i nearly always use rapid set so just after some advice
with standard set.
if i was using standard set will i get the inital grab (of tub adhesive) or will i still need the battons till it sets.
what size tile is the maximum tile size before standard starts to slip without battens.
plus how long to leave before cleaning off.

Hi James,

You'll need to use battens with the standard set, although it has good initial grab it won't be enough to hold back gravity for at least an hour or more. All but small mosaics will need some form of support. You could mark a datum height then measure down to the top of the bottom tile and cut and fix this eliminating the use of a batten. Wipe any excess addy off as you go, leaving the batten overnite if you choose this option.
