Steps ???

If you concrete to existing steps either put a controlled joint in between the two or rebar the two together, You will get movement

if you get pre formed they should be cured, by the book they should be dry, if you prime them(all surfaces!) it should reduce moisture ingress, then wait for a dry day!imo

yes mate ...I was just thinking as they are outside, even on a good day, they are still gonna be a bit damp this time of year

thanks whitebeam ...any advice on the pricing ???

From your origanal post I think it works out at three steps, Correct me if I'm wrong. I'de say a day, with shuttering and pouring the concrete but still put a controlled joint between the two. Get some release agent and apply to the wood for when you take away the shutter

Ps, you could use rapid setting concrete

No mate - it's two different porches, one has an internal and an external set (2 steps each) .....the other porch has a set of three then the porch floor, then another step

Theres a very long days work there if not two with all the messing around, Don't know if your've done this type of work before. May be a good idea to get some one in who does this type of work on a regular basis

You could even use concrete blocks to make the steps and tile directly to them without the drying time
