Sterling board flooring

Hi all,

Does anyone know if There are any adhesives now that can be used on sterling board or if you can use Dural CI or any other matting stuck to sterling board to tile onto (Floors) ?

Just been to look at some jobs and noticed floors have been boarded with sterling board.

I was pretty sure that you shouldn't tile onto sterling board & chip board flooring, but when I asked the site manager if he was going to have the floors over boarded for me or should I include the overboarding in my pricing he told me that I can use some kind of matting & there are adhesives now that will stick tile to sterling board??

I've never heard of this as i've always overboarded, but can you use dural ci or some adhesives on sterling board now?

Hi.. OSB is not a stable product to tile directly too, use something like hardi 250 to stabilise it.. and then Dural Ci if you think lateral stress is an issue.

I thought as you have said that OSB is not suitable to tile directly to,is this something to do with the adhesive not bonding to the OSB? please could you explain?
So if there is no movement in the OSB do I need to use the hardiboard because it can be screwed to the OSB and dural CI matting can only be stuck with adhesive?
