don't think it's arrived in the Midlands yet Neale. There was a bit of wind at about 3am but nothing much else apart from persistent rain. No storms, power outs or downed trees in the Staffordshire Moorlands yet.

It knocked a patio chair over in the night. Total carnage in my back garden. Had to pick it up and everything.

I'm a bit gutted we didn't get more of it actually because I'd been preparing for it since Saturday. Cleared the entire back garden, tied everything down that needed securing, even went around next door because it's currently empty and made sure everything was secure there. the forecast shows that the storm has headed off towards Holland and Scandanavia, without twisting back round into the Midlands and North East like it was forecasted originally.

Better to be safe than sorry. Don't feel sorry for the in-laws who are struggling to get into Central London today :lol:

you just need to look at any weather forecast's satellite feed Dan. Northern parts of France got hit as it came up the English channel too.

I've been looking at the forecast for the rest of the week, and currently there's predictions that there's another storm brewing that will hit on Friday.

double decker bus got blown over in the high winds in Surrey Dan. I think perhaps you're living in the wrong place to see the worst weather. You need to be in the South East and near the coast :lol:

Well that was a crap storm. Had a battering between 6/7am few fences and trees down.

Pleased I went to work...

I did'nt really notice it, then heard about no trains, bits of tree's down everywhere and some poor guy lost his life in Watford after a tree fell on his car.

Due with us in NE Essex about 6 to 7 in the morning. Put everything away that i can. Just hope i don't lose the thatch of my roof. I remember the 87 storm, hope this is not as bad. Be safe.

Told my friend to wear a hat this week. even the best toupee's will blow off in these winds.
