Get a piece of wood and mark and cut wood so that it just sits between rails at front of cutter, then try all along rails to see if it is tight or loose, turn rails until wood is exactly same all the way along then tighten everything up.

Is there any play on the mechanism ie the cutting part between the rails, try moving left and right there should be no play
