How many times have been asked to tell the client how many tiles they need for their job ? Not how many m2....how many tiles but when you say " what size is the tile you have chosen" They reply...." We havent chosen yet until we know how many we need " !!!!!
Client recently bought some Cheap large format slate cos they were cheap.....but paid 2 guys to collect and a hire of a low loader to bring them back, the cost of fuel....and then employed a young lad for a week to cut the slate down to the right length !!! on top of this he also bought a wet cutter !!! No how in hell does that work out to be a cheap buy ?
It doesnt stop there.....He asked me to seal with stainstop plus as this would hide some saw markings in the slate....which it did, but he isnt over impressed with the effect so on the next floor he wants to apply a polyurethane varnish before grouting ????
Why not just buy the slate to the style they wanted in the first place instead of trying to be clever ???
