How many times have been asked to tell the client how many tiles they need for their job ? Not how many m2....how many tiles but when you say " what size is the tile you have chosen" They reply...." We havent chosen yet until we know how many we need " !!!!!

Client recently bought some Cheap large format slate cos they were cheap.....but paid 2 guys to collect and a hire of a low loader to bring them back, the cost of fuel....and then employed a young lad for a week to cut the slate down to the right length !!! on top of this he also bought a wet cutter !!! No how in hell does that work out to be a cheap buy ?

It doesnt stop there.....He asked me to seal with stainstop plus as this would hide some saw markings in the slate....which it did, but he isnt over impressed with the effect so on the next floor he wants to apply a polyurethane varnish before grouting ????

Why not just buy the slate to the style they wanted in the first place instead of trying to be clever ???

They tend look at just the initial cost, then forget about everything else...they can be quite amazing at times:nonod:

Customers that spend £150 on cheap diy outlet tiles for their bathroom walls and expect materials and labour to amount to less than the tiles!!!!!

I had one last week, have been rendering a house in Krend, ain't had a full week cos of weather.
They were moaning about me not going " it only rained in the morning,it was fine by 3 ect ect ect" when I explained about wash offs ect they just looked at me like I was a muppet.
So one day I go,start putting it on and it starts peein it down,so I had to do this to the front and side of the house.

Was absolutely soaked to the skin ,was not very happy at all.
the customer comes out and says
" well I've seen it all now,why anyone would start rendering when it's forecast rain I will never know, bloody stupid"
I very nearly poked his eyes out with my trowel

I did a full bathroom fit out a few weeks ago, customer was going on holiday for the duration (always nice), he wanted cushion flooring down (all included in the quote) so I popped in with samples to confirm what he wanted so I could get my guy to supply & fit, customer turns round and says " I'm not really that fussed, I'll probably put some carpet in there after xmas" !!
:yikes:

I wonder why we bother sometimes...:mad2:
