all depends on the limestone G, some limestone is very soft, I think chalk is limestone, and some is very hard. Acid will etch limestone by dissolving the carbon (if I remember my chemistry correctly)Limestone doesn't scratch like slate though, does it?
if Suzannah's flags are slate ie metamorphic then the acid won't etch them, but if they're limestone ie carboniferous, acid will dissolve themI know about slate, used to translate for Delabole Slate and have worked quite a bit with it myself, but not limestone, know nothing...
