Swamp fever

Hi all, not really a question more an funny thing, been doing a slate kitchen floor and my Erbauer wetcutter throws a fair bit of water about and then it usually turns muddy after a while, all I can smell at the moment even after a shower is stagnant pond, anybody ever had this?

Slate has probably had everything soaked into it over thousands of years while it was in the ground, just my view.

There was a funny smell on today's job after I had egg sarnies for lunch!
