 When I saw a thread wih my handle in the thread title, I instanstly thought "right, who's slaggin' me off now 'den?

There are two main reasons I don't show off pics of my work. Reason number one is that most of the work I do is largely uninteresting. To me atleast. Reason number two is that I'm such a nitpick I'm pretty much never entirely satisfied with what I do, no matter how good it really is. Though no one else seems to see the hundreds of thousands of imperfections I do, no matter how much I point them out, I couldn't possibly show off uninteresting things I'm not satisfied with, could I?
Doesn't help that most customers buy budget tiles either.

I might post a few pics at some point though, but I need to buy a new usb cable for my camera first, as my cat seems to have "played" with the one I had...

ah fair enough, im not happy with that floor either really but thought id atleast post something up, thats all your getting tho

swe !! all tilers are the same , i could pick holes in my work all the time too but perfection would take forever and time is money so they say..

customer was picking holes in my tiling once, till I pointed out that it was unfilled travertine!! (god that's awful! mods feel free to strike!)

sWe,

I agree with you and the other guys here...I never seem to be able to enjoy what I'm doing because I want it to be perfect and when you factor in the defects in the tile, substrate, as well as trying to do this fast enough to make some money and pay employees....:mad2: at some point I realized this thing has turned into an f-ing business and no longer a trade that I used to love.

I had a tagline on another site a while back that said something like "searching for the elusive perfect tile installation, and planning to retire after the first one that I can do". We had one a year ago that was damn close to it, unlimited money from the client and we got to do a really, really cool shower. I knew then it was all downhill from there. :veryangry: I doubt I'll get another chance like that one again. :frown5:

Aye, I'll sign that. In a way, me scampering off to uni will return the art/trade bit of tiling to me, after it was taken away by the business part

Did you post about that particular shower on JB? Was it the one with the grayish stone and the angled wall, where the tiles were cut to match the joints on the other walls?
