Tilers Forums baby thread

well last night I felt like poo for most of the night. it might have been the large Big Mac meal and coke I'd had for my dinner 😳 that unsettled me and Baby GRR but Baby GRR was restless until about 2am. I finally got comfortable and got off to sleep and had a couple of hours this morning to catch up. But I can tell my hormones are changing again. Mr GRR got the full rath of me for no reason last night on our magical mystery tour to McDonalds (he never goes the most direct route to anywhere and it frustrates me enormously) and then he was talking on the phone whilst I was watching Sarah Beeny on C4 with Help, my house is falling down! :mad2:

so hopefully these are all good signs that Baby GRR is getting ready. We'd like baby here in time for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on Sunday

Yeh, caffeine, not good, goes to the baby, too. You'll find that when you're breastfeeding, too, what you eat really affects the degree of baby's colic and windpains and how well it sleeps. Plain, non windy food and no caffeine works wonders and can transform a crying baby within 24-48 hours to a happy one.

Baby will come when it's ready, you'll get used to him or her not having ANY consideration for your plans... great fun.. 🙂

can't remember if I've already said this somewhere in this thread, but some people have said the most ridiculous things to me whilst I've been pregnant.

one friend asked me whether I'd had to stop driving yet because surely the baby bump would get too big and stop me reaching the steering wheel :mad2:

and today, my sister suggested that I ask my mum to be in the birthing room with me whilst I'm in labour... why? she's been through it herself, she knows what it's like. why would I ask my mother to be there for the birth when it was me and my husband who got ourselves into this mess? :mad2:

oh and my sister also said, "let me know when the baby is coming" how the hell am I supposed to do that if I'm in labour in the maternity unit? Shall I just log on to facebook and make an announcement????

ridiculous.

:lol::lol: Hang in there Liz just think of you and your partner the family can stand in line (does make good reading tho)

oh and I just remembered another one

sis said - you must be finding it difficult waiting, I know how you don't like having to wait... what flaming choice have I got??? :mad2:

Deep breaths Liz  Don't let the silly people annoy you, it won't be long 'til you can have some laughing gas

the friend who mentioned about being too big to reach the steering wheel has never had children herself or been pregnant, so she's ill-informed about a lot of baby related things. I think she gets a lot of information from the women she works with. she doesn't make any sense when she talks to me about some things associated with pregnancy, birth and child-raising

she asked me what the worst thing was about being pregnant. I told her that there were 2 things - 1. the heartburn/acid-indigestion; constantly made me feel sick and horrible until baby dropped and I could have my stomach back in a more normal place, and 2. living from one day to the next, hoping that everything progresses normally. she completely dismissed the 2nd point saying that nothing bad would ever happen and she now thinks that the worst thing about being pregnant is having heartburn. okkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

Bless. Laura's hobbling around now. Trying to keep active but also trying not to do too much. Somehow.

At least the sun is holding off a bit Liz. When we had those hot days last week I felt sorry for Laura. Bought her a paddling pool, blew it up, filled it, then the sun went in! haha. Left it up a couple of days but sure enough it rained a bit. Emptied it, let it down, and we got some sun! typical. Though not as bad as last week so I've not blown it up again yet.

Going southport in a couple of weeks so if it's sunny and hot there we'll not be doing much.

how long has Laura got left now Dan? About 6 weeks? in the last few weeks I have to say it does get a bit easier when the baby drops into place ready for birth. she'll be able to breathe better, move around better but still tying shoelaces will be the worst thing in the world 🙁

and the heat seems to slow Baby GRR down. don't know whether Laura has noticed this with your baby. when the temperatures were over 20C, I had a very quiet baby and I'd need to drink loads of iced water to get the little monkey to move. lazy, just like Mr GRR

when Lou was in labour with Harrison his heartbeat kept dropping, so they decided to get in there quick and pull him out. First attempt with the suction cap resulted in him being just about out when the sucker lost suction and he shot back up!!, second attempt with salad servers was more successful and out he came, with the reason as to why his heart beat kept dipping,,,,,he had hold of umbilical chord and kept squeezing it:lol::lol::lol:
