Re: Hall of shame....

Tried this earlier in the week but couldn't get pics to upload. Hope it works this time.

Ripped up a Trav floor that cost the customer a £1000.00 4 months ago and took my apprentice 20 minutes to strip.

Floor was made up of, t&g floor boards covered with Plastic Ply, with 12mm Travertine installed using a 5mm trowel and grey adhesive (which was at least flexible)

Re-done using 18mm ply over floor boards, with Ditra Matting. Then tiled using a 660 x 330m Italian porcelain

Nice looking end result Stewart. Did the customer loose confidence in natural stone!? I bet she was please with the porcelain, it looks great!

OMG rather you than me Diamond!! :yikes:

To be honest I love these jobs, its all high price stuff because they dont want to be had over again, its a four figure sum and rising quickly, the first figure is a 5 and its extra on materials.
Dont ya just love these cowboys

Jeez Dom, that's really awful mate, I am on a similar job too at the moment in a very small wetroom where a "builder" laid a screed floor with a flat no fall area around the drain, (so big puddle), the polyflor safety floor has been stuck with tile and carpet adhesive :mad2:, the tanked corners held together with silicon, tiles were dot and dabbed on walls with the window cuts done with a paving saw (chips in the glaze as big as half your little finger nail, and the pvc trim cut straight and the adjoining one profiled to it , it's unbelievable what I'm coming across at the moment, I wish I had got some photos, but my customer removed it all before I had a chance to picture it. On the up side, as you say, you can do it how you want to and charge accordingly:thumbsup:

:yikes:

Dom, "Can't you just make this work?":mad2:

Dom, "this shouldn't be too much to fix this up eh?" :prrr:

Dom, "this shouldn't take you too long!" :incazzato:

Ever heard any of those? GRRRRRR
