Tilers Vans

You can buy ply at wickes that will fit in my estate car without cutting so it should fit in a berlingo too.

yes grumpy, but it's expensive compared to a wood yard, most wood yards will cut it free of charge....Mark

the wood yard i use charge £13 for a full sheet of 12mm wpb.

You are absolutely right of course Mark. However, for my situation it is more cost effective to spend a little more on materials I only use occassionally at present than to shell out £000s on a van. I pass on the cost to my customers pretty much without mark up and make my money from the labour of collection and fitting of the stuff.

Should things start to get really busy then I would probably really need to reconsider.

I am considering getting a van after I have done a course what do you think of a Transit Connect

you dont need a van every ones got one, you need a dodge ram pick up and stand out from the rest

surely the back isnt big enough though even ronnie corbett couldn't squeeze in there could he? Also do you think turning up in a van with livery portrays a more professional picture than turning up in my family picasso.

Steve.

my Dodge has a 6ft bed but if you need somthing bigger you can get them with an 8ft bed

At the minute I have only a Corsa Combo van. Small and economical and I find its just enough for now. I can get most loads of tiles into it and I currently use Backer boards rathewr than ply. Pass the cost on to cust and they are smaller and easier to carry. Eventually I will be leasing a van when work picks up and will be going for something like a peugeot Expert size van.

But for now and to start it suits me down to the ground.

If someting is too big you can always get the stuff delivered and pass the cost on. Not done that yet so dont know how much it costs but cant be too much
