Tiling inside an Archway....Arghhh!!!!

Formable trim from schlueter outside corner.
Piece of dark tile plus border inside the verical part of the arch.
From top of border around the arch mosaic, colour alike to the white tile.

My god.....this guy comes on asking for advice and gets Hung, Drawn and Quartered before he's had a chance to defend himself. None of you know the history of the job. Unfornately he hasn't been back on to respond to all the slagging off. I always thought this to be a friendly forum with advice given freely to all and everyone....now I wonder? I bet there are several of you out there who post photos in the gallery, but make sure you vett only the best ones to post.
Good Samaritan springs to mind.

Is the client registered blind..If not all i can say is you gets wot you pay for and assume you are not charging for this in which case its a cracking job mate and practise makes perfect..we all learn from mistakes and it makes us better people:grouphug:

reading previous posts from Tilesmasher it would seem that he is not the original tiler and is indeed finishing someone elses work. The original post he wrote states this.
But if the client is happy with what has already been done then you could slap some grout all around the inside of the arch and draw little squares on. When its dry they wont know the difference:lol:

Yomper, if you, or anyone else, does not want the criticism that can come with the advice you get from experienced fixers, I suggest you don't ask for it.

I think you are right, Sir Ramic. Just looking back at his original post about this job with the pic, it appears that the bottom part of the wall had already been tiled up to the border tiles. What we can't see from the photo is if the black tiles grout lines matched up prior to TS taking up the job. It is quite possible that the grout lines not matching at the corner is not his fault at all.

Maybe he is trying to make the best of a bad position and has come on here seeking advice. By his own admission he is new to the trade, and yes maybe the cuts around the arch are a little rough, but I am really disappointed at some of the posts made attacking him!

Lets try and help the guy to do the best job he can by being constructive in any criticism, not just lambasting him for poor workmanship, some of which may not even have been his!

I dont think i ever attacked the guy but i did attack the job and yes its still rough.
Only Tilesmasher can put things to right...on here if not on the job.

makes interesting reading this post,as a few people have stated no one has any knowledge of the history of this guys job if he started it or not, dont expect him back as his confidence is going to be shot,i also appreciate this forum as it has tonnes of knowledge given which is great but ive got to say this is the 2nd time in as many days a verbal attack has been launched on someone for giving opinions and asking advice,,pretty poor. constructive criticism is good but shooting someone down is not.
