Hi all.
My second post here. Thanks for all the help in the past regarding the floor tile preperation.
I have a few more questions if you don't mind helping me out?
The old bath (no shower) used to have tiles around bath area but only 3 tiles high (20 x 25). Above the tiles was just emulsion, as was every other wall infact.
I'm looking to put an electric mixer shower over the bath and tile the whole room with 40x25mm tiles. Where the tiles used to be, it's just plaster from the skimming and above is emulsion. My questions are.
1, Will i need to sand the emulsion right back to plaster over shower and bath area ready to use a tanking kit?
2, Will i need to sand the rest of the walls back to plaster before applying the tiles or will scoring the walls be sufficient?
3, I notice that BAL do a tanking kit "WP1" do Ardex do an alternative product?
4, As the Bath that was in was about 1690mm the new 1700 bath doesn't fit as such. Can i cut out a small horizontal area of plasterboard for the Bath to sit in and as such how would i go about sealing that part ready for tiling?
and finally as fifth question, when i chased out the plasterboard for the hot and cold copper pipes, the false wall was basically 3 pieces of 12mm plasterboard glued together. What would you suggest i use to fill the chasing in with ready to tile over?
Thanks again for your help...
Chris.
