TKD Tiling
Hi - thanks for the comments. To be honest, I don’t have a frame of reference for a iling price so didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t shocked at £200 per day but 5 days sounds a lot. He says his last one was £1200, 6 days, for 3mx3m but only half way up
£200 a day is the minimum a good tiler should look to earn. I charge £240 when I’m on day rate. When I’m working on a price it’s more, considerably more on large floors.
I’m in the south east.
You need to take into account how expensive tools are, the wear and tear the of expensive blades and cutters. (I’ve just spent £1900 on two different cutters). How long the guy has taken to hone and perfect his skills. The toll it takes on the body, it’s a very physical job. Knowledge and experience is extremely important in this trade, and doesn’t come for free. There are cheaper tilers around, there always is. But standards differ an awful lot when it comes to tiling. It’s a pretty bespoke trade these days
