to expensive?

ive quoted a couple of stone jobs but havnt got them, just wondering weather im going in to high, so i will run one of them by you and let me know what you think.

11m2 conservatory, screeded floor 600x300 marble tiles, floor needs S.L.C approx 2 bags i priced £470 inc all addy grout sealer s.l.c .

What would you have anticipated the time scale on this job ? One visit to level, One visit to tile, one visit to grout, one visit to seal ?

Could you not have used adhesive to bed up and got it tiled and maybe grouted in a day then return to seal ? there by lowering costs.

2 bags of leveller over 11m2 isnt a lot, thats why i was thinking of bedding up.

If you only needed 2 bags of SLC for 11, metres I wouldn't have bothered with it......... I would have leveled as I went with addy. as for price, for my area it actually sound a bit on the cheep side.

I certainly say it's a case of tight *** customers. Not to expensive in my book.

Pricing sound very fair in my opinion. Many guys are pricing just to get a wage but, there are some putting in crazy prices too. Could just be that someone living round the corner from them thinks they can tile and has offered to do it for them.

You might get a call back when they start to lift in a months time!

i find i really struggle to get the stone jobs, the customers tend to buy the stone without knowing the true cost of fitting it.

Very true, spoke with many customers who have no idea of what it entails e.g. cutting, drilling and sealing etc all of what costs in terms of time, tools and materials.
