Hi - first post so appreciate all help and comments! I want the Topps Stardust Quartz Black 60x30 tiles for kitchen floor costing £116 per sq m. Tile HQ has their Starlight Quartz tile which looks similar for £47 per sq m.
That's a massive difference!
Does anyone know the difference in terms of quality and looks? Topps tells me there's is from company 'Gulfstone' in Saudi Arabia whereas Tile HQ is from company called 'Quartz Stone' in Turkey. Also in terms of installing I've been told different things by different companies- some say seal, some say no sealing needed.
Please anyone who have seen the 2 different tiles give me some advice. And are the Tile HQ ones just as good as Topps?

Thanks very much!

Hi guys, Just to be 100% sure on this:

I bought the expensive stardust black ones from topps tiles. I've laid them and v happy with the result. But the salesman flogged me one of their products:500ml Polished porcelain protector - stain protection by FILA homecare products. Was surprised when I found out it cost £34!!. I havent used it yet but if is not required or will not add any benefit to the tile then I'll take it back. I always was a bit dubious seeing as I knew these tiles were re-constituted quartz / resin based.

Thanks.

Hi there when I was looking at the stardust black tiles from topps. The sales advisor there told me there is nothing required to be put on the tiles. He told me there is no need to seal etc. and that was someone working at topps tiles, so not good that someone else from the company is saying otherwise. I don't know who's right but £34!!!! They could have at least thrown that in for free for the price of those tiles as those are expensive tiles!
But they do look great!!!

Hi, thanks for the reply and the info. Yes they do look really good. Haha yes i shud've bartered a bit i reckon. over all impression from topps was good. very friendly and keen to help and i think the BAL adhesive / grout etc stuff they sell despite being expensive seems from my experience to be good stuff, but i think the 34 quid little can of stain protector might be making a return visit to the shop!
