I see Topps Tiles suffered a 18% drop in sales over the christmas season, bet they are still bloody expensive for there materials...:yes:

I went into Topps yesterday for the first time in months, wanted some samples.
Lad told me there have been huge price drops since i was last in.
Bal Green star is now only £5 something. Great! when would i ever use that?
His answer: "bathroom walls?" mmmm great

Was in on Thursday taking a box of tiles back and was told their toppfix spf grey is now £9ish. Still using Mapei though as thats what i like.

I dont know what products your using from topps but as i said in previous post there BAL prices to me wont be beaten,and believe me i`ve tried to get price matches from other places and they wont.and i`m not trying to promote topps in anyway shape or form,because i`ll only use them for my adhesive`s..

I got a bag of Bal supercover from Topps and was charged £23, rang CTD as I wanted more for a job coming up, they were £5 a bag cheaper, 7 bags gave a saving of £35, 30 mile round trip = £5 in fuel, 40 mins time, gave me a saving of £30...

Mark my branch of ctd is £6 a bag more for a 20kg bag of rapidset flex,topps is £25 and i`ve tried to get a price match and under no circumstances will they match it let alone beat it.

I find that CTD will match topps prices.

I prefer dealing with CTD, as the staff are better informed about prices. When picking some adhesive up from Topps a few months ago, I was told that Green star was suitable for showers. Hmm.....

When I picked up the BAL grip he said "you don't really need that unless you're doing commercial jobs".

The local CTD manager told me that BAL were apparently doing GRIP just for topps and selling White Star to CTD etc. The rumour is that BAL were going to discontinue Grip and replace it with white star, but Topps wanted them to keep Grip. So Bal did a lower spec Grip for them and sold everyone else white star.

i have just rang topps tiles for a quote and asked them for the customers price and then my price to see the saving and for 14m2 of tiles, 33 border tiles and 9 lengths of chrome quad trim the customer would have saved just £30 out of a £500 job, how do they work there trade prices out? i think that i will look somewhere else?

don't know about the flexi, not priced that up, it was just the standard..
