Topps Tiles?

Peter

I see there's the first NI branch of Topps Tiles opening about 2 miles from me at the end of the week. Right beside another independent tile shop, questionably.

Are there any good deals for materials in it or is it pretty expensive by and large? What brands do they stock? Usually have to go to the other side of town for the premium/specialist stuff like Bal/Mapei/Ditra/Hardiebacker etc so can I expect anything like that? Good quality tiles or bargain basement stuff or a bit of everything?

Do they have a policy for giving out work too? Wouldn't mind buying stuff from them on the first few days in the hope of getting in with them if they're trade friendly.

Topps tiles is the easiest place for me and I get good prices. Got a local tile shop but they don't keep much stock and are more expensive. Only thing with topps is the constant changing of the staff! Just as I build up a good relationship and get free stuff it's all change then back to square one! Maybe they leave because of me!

Called in on Friday. Good selection of stuff but trade pricing was a bit high. £41 for single part fastflex and over £20 for 10kg microflex. Chrome trim was a quid cheaper than elsewhere though.

Got a pen, mug and a t-shirt, although I'd say my regular suppliers will fall out with me if I come through their door in a bright yellow Topps t-shirt. Will maybe do for dusting off.

They're planning on opening 8 stores here and 15 in ROI in the next 18 months, some operation.
A bit high! CTD wanted £50+ for a bag of Fastflex a weeks ago, even the lass on the other end of the phone was gobsmacked

good for.... when you run short of gear and its local !
If you're in the South, try Boydens, by far the cheapest in the south for most brands, delivered... adhesive, ditra, grout, trim.. its who I use..
