As for struggling tilers at the moment, it's probably time for us to start diversifying.

Each and everyone of us needs to have a good think about what else we can do to earn a living. There are loads of jobs that still earn good money for those willing to do them.

CC, I've been bouncing my Police career CV to insurance companies and the like. I'm on a retired police web site, and there are jobs on there for the likes of me such as insurance statements, sample taking in high risk jobs etc. I don't really want to go back to that life, but I have to pay the bills,mortgage etc.

Well in Fred's case he's got skills picked up when he worked for the Police.

In my case I have experience working in the manufacturing sector, which will also be shrinking but I've got a lot of transferable skills that I could take to another job.

Alternitively I could diversify and do a range of jobs around the house.

No, I can fit bathrooms, can do other repairs around customer's homes, fit fascias/soffits etc.

As I say, each of us has other skills that we can use. They will be different for each of us but we all have them
