All new Trafics & Vivaros have a 100,000 mile warranty now. I am also led to believe that they have sorted the gearbox problem

Originally vauxhall made the bearings too small on the gearbox. They recalled most of them and replaced them. I got a 54 reg for 4 grand with only 27000 on the clock since new gearbox (and clutch, oh and steering rack they managed to damage !) Apart from an electrical short just on christmas (sorted now) loverly to drive with bags of space

I have an 04 Transit and your right about the seal by the sliding door, also noticed a small rust spot on the arch:yikes:

my business partner Alex has a 56 plate transit bought from new it been a decent van other than a couple of engine management issues that ford sorted under warranty,I have a nissan primastar on a 57 plate bought from new no problems at all so far ,just done 50,000 miles only tyres and break pads so far ,its definately the best van I have ever owned, I quite like the transporter and will be looking at them when I renew in October
