hello brian j thanks for the reply.its a new instal with turbo celcon blocks.and cement board in recessed shower room.
thanks tfs for the welcome.
reading other posts .it seems its a issue to put travertine tiles onto a freshly plastered wall.these tiles are 30x30 not the really big ones.will i have a problem ?.

been told to use today mapei keraflex maxi £21.50 a bag on walls and keraquick on floor.with latex plus additive.£26.00+£16 for the addy.what do you think.is this expensive and am i using the right products.floor is 18mm wbp ply by the way.do u tile straight onto board or do you have to seal or prime them.


I would never tile to ply direct. Always overboard with backerboards.
Adhesives are fine.

sorry mate brian is our plumber.too many things going round me edd.yes the plaster is skimmed with multi finish plaster

phew,why would others on concrete walls be told to batten them out and hardibacker them then brian.

Thats a good question! If you just have concrete block then that is one of the ways of attaching the backers, for me just screw them directly to the block work. Just so we don't go down the wrong road here, are your walls bare block or rendered and skimmed?

brian j the blocks are hardwall rendered with multi finish plaster to finish.
