best to stick by the pdf if you dont and it fails you have no comeback

I am not saying that I want to deviate from the pdf. I am asking if anyone knows of a tile adhesive I could use that is cheaper and conforms to the spec stated.

I have had a look at Topps website and they do a rapidset floor tile adhesive that details that it is suitable for masonry walls and is £19.99.

Has anyone used this before and does anyone know if it conforms to BS EN13888 (2002) or BS5980 (1980) Type 1, 2, 3?

What area are you in, ? there should be a Mapie suppler near you, I used excel bond in Milton Keynes, they paid 12 a bag for it, call Mapie on 01215086970 they wil tel you of a loca supplier, tile giant seel it also, Cheers Steve aka ozboz

Hi Thanks for your response.
I'm in Coventry.
I thought Mapei were a tile adhesive brand or do they sell products direct too?
And who's the "they" in they paid 12 a bag for it? Customer?
I can't get trade prices so am looking for best retail price or recommendation.
I have checked stores near me but am unsure of all the different tile adhesives and codes ( as in BS5980 etc...) and they all seem very high priced. My excel bond spf was around £43 a bag. £12 would be much better lol.

They were a builder, dont know where they got it from, but i know they saved a fortune on Topps prices who they were originally supposed to be buying it off. the big B&Q Stores now sell Mapie as well, has build fix on the bag, one of them is for stone porcelaine and that, but phone mapie for a local supplier, id say there is a Tile Giant in your area, give them a whirl, 40 a bag is too dear, Cheers Steve
