Trip Box ?

is there a way of removing them and tiling under or what? Its a new house and I can't see any obvious way of temporarily moving it from the wall .

If so, leave it alone! Tile around it or whatever mate.

Yes distribution board I think - contains RCD's and separate trip swithes etc .

Yes, tile around it. And be careful with that sponge!

It has a feed to it that even if you switched all the RCD's and trips off, would still be live. It's always best to tile around them, or box them in with a door or two and tile around that.

Be careful!!!! Where is this and why are you trying to tile round it? Is it in a kitchen?

As Dan says part of it is unprotected, so be careful with water and also keep any sharp tile edges well away

it would be both illegal and dangerous for you to tamper with the consumer unit unless you are competent to do so. I assume from the very fact that you have asked the question that you are not. Leave it alone or get an electrician in to deal with it. You would also need to get the electricity supplier involved cos the consumer unit is the safety feature which sits between the incoming supply and your electrical curcuits.

Yes it's up very high , It's my own house - only 4 years old - i'm cool with tiling round it , just wondered of there was a way of going under it .
