Heres my suggestions.

Greenwich...off course..and then take a boat back up the river to Embankment. When you get off there walk up towards Charring Cross and on the right hand side there is a pub that is v.nice.

I dont know if you like walking but there are loads of city guides that will take you for a walking tour round the city of London. You can gem up on your history, the Roman London one is a great un, as is the Jack the Ripper one, where you stop of for a few drinks on the way.

Contrary to the jibes about Old Compton Street, if your in the Soho area, for the best cakes and pastries in London go to Patisserie Valerie on Old Compton Street.

I dont think your go because you have great steaks up where you are but if you want one...the best steaks are at www.gauchorestaurants.co.uk
The one at Tower Bridge has a great view.
