UK Pro Tiling Training Feedback Thread

Look at the standard of technical tiling work here, week two at UK Pro Tiling Training, putting everything learned on week 1 exercises into practice, this job completed in 4 days on the course. James with no prior tiling experience before the course.

Thinking of doing tiling training then just compare what we deliver in a short time with any other training centre and see why people travel from all over the UK for our fast track professional tiling training.

I have been on a two week course with Darren back in June, the course is well structured and not only covers tiling it also covers setting your own business up, within a month of finishing the course I was set up on my own and have been working 7 days a week to keep up with the work I'm getting. Also Darren is on the other end of an email if I need help or advice, something other centres don't offer.

I originally learnt on a 4 week course with another company. Not everything can be learnt on these courses, you get taught the important basics, the foundations to, hopefully, a tiling career. Some centres also have extra specialist courses, such as Geometric Victorian tiling and mosaics etc., so as new tiles/tools develop then new specialist courses could be added or the tilers can go and do extra courses with the manufactures (eg. Porcel-thin etc.). When you retrain later in life you dont have the luxury of time you need to get out working, so you get the basics and then do extra courses as and when and and in what youre interested in (for me its mosaics). Ive never fixed anything over 600mm, dont even work with that size now, and Ive done alright. Believe me size isnt everything.
In the end its down to the tiler and what they do with the information theyve been given however theyve learnt it.
I dont know if UKTT do the same but the centre where I learnt also provided Resettlement Training for ex Forces guys, which was invaluable to these guys to get back into 'Civvie Street'.

If anybody doubts good short courses they wanna checkout MissTiler's photos on the forum! Media for user: MissTiler - http://www.tilersforums.com/media/users/misstiler.2157/

If that's the result of a 4 week course, then some Bisazza courses (mosaics), then lots and lots of practice and patience, then the training systems needs a overhall because I've seen people with all the paperwork saying they Level 3 NVQ and couldn't even tile an arch let alone do what she does. 🙂

Going on the course in January is it worth it ?
Absolutely worth every penny, and in terms of knowledge and skill aquired on the full course, you will be fully equipped to start running your own business. I'm Spencer , and took the course in March this year. I am booked up until December 2017 and still taking calls and supplying quotes.

I researched other courses, and when it came down to it....I was prepared to travel for 6 hours to take on UK Pro Tiling Trainings full course.

These are a few jobs i've done recently below.
Believe me, you will be making money like never before. Message me if there's anything else you wish to know.

This is great to see what work you have completed since doing this course. I will also be doing this course in March next year and seeing this standard of work from some one who has done this course just gives me more confidence in knowing i chose the right centre. I too like so many are travelling a considerable mount of distance ie Northampton. Well done keep up the good work.

I think it’s a good opportunity for people to learn new skills. It’s a modern way. The days of leaving school and being took on as an apprentice are dwindling unfortunately. Still happens but not as much as it once did. Once you have been on these courses, it’s upto the individual to have the right mindset, drive, and passion to increase there knowledge and skills. Some will be successful and others will become plasterers!
