G, I always use grey grout for this stuff. I've used ivory and sand before and they really seem to pull the pattern apart. Here's an image of the same pattern (although the right hand one does have slightly darker colours) which shows what I mean.

Yep, thought you might. There is this truth about white grout having a separating effect. When I did my appletree in my bathroom I was fully aware of the danger of that but decided on white anyhow to keep that clean look with the white tiles, but I know, and it does bug me a little at times, that the branches etc would have shown better with a grey grout. The choice of grout can really make or break a piece can't it, but grey makes itself almost invisible in mosaics, letting the patterns come out....

Mosa that why i cant understand when the architect or designer says i want the grout the same colour as the tiles might as well just paint the wall imo

In many ways I agree with you, but there are exceptions, especially with black white or beautiful stone, where you don't want anything detracting from the overall effect. And there is nothing better than tiles or glass in a bathroom, is there...

but not on mosaics which we always get or chipped edge slate
