Just got kids off to school, having a brew before I started on some jobs at home when the phone rang. It was school, "can you come and pick the boys up as we're having to close school today"
Got to school and found out that during the night somebody had nicked the overhead electric power cables supplying school!!!

there's a lot of cable stealing going on around here too. some cables were ripped up from alongside railway tracks near us here, put a whole section of track and a small station out of action. and somebody took a lot of BT cabling from a hole in one of the town centres a few weeks back. People have been without phone lines and broadband for almost a month.

Bummer that you can't go to work Doug, but at least you get to spend another fun-packed day with your boys

luckily I was gonna get on with some jobs around house today Liz,,,de-cluttering after easter break lol! They've stolen about 100 metre stretch during the night. Staff were in yesterday till about 8pm getting classrooms set up and all was fine then.

Seen it done before on a site I was working on in South Africa, a new install, they apparently cut the cables that were high up in situ over a period and then took the lot one night, security were found to be involved, big surprise there

There's a picture on you tube somewhere of a chappie (or what's left of him) in America fried to a junction box! He was trying to steal the cables.
Its in Dallas and they were trying to steal live cables - my phones content control won't allow access something to do with Gore.com
