Great post, Question, What type of ceramics do you use for goemetric design work. Is there a certain tile? or is just any ceramics?

HI Charlie

I use 'Original Style' there is a link on the thread somewhere i think, but a simple search and you will find it. The other i think is called 'Fired Earth' (please correct if i'm wrong:thumbsup:)

Cheers:thumbsup:

Nice work trev

I would be happy for you to do my hall - but unfortunately I have a good idea as to what it would cost and it's money I don't have:grin:
One obvious question for me - at the door is there a threshold strip to be used or is the floor in the other room going to be tiled or carpeted. I only ask cos my brother will have a similar problem soonish and I am expected to help.

cheers

Hi frogeye

Yes there will be a threshold strip joining the tiles to the laminate wood floor. Client had yet to purchase.

In reply to the haze on my floor, i had the door open and it was a very warm day so took a while to buff up.

Have you tried linseed oil and sawdust for removing the grout haze and giving the tile a good finish?
Fill a 15kg tub with sawdust and mix in approximately 250ml of linseed oil. Spread the sawdust on the floor and using the sawdust under a rag buff the floor. (Make sure the grout in the joints has go off before you spread the sawdust)

These floors are like the old midland red buss serves. You don’t see one for ages then three turn up at the sane time.

cheers chris i was looking at it and couldnt figure out what people were on about. good to hear peoples points of views.
i expect it was shape of the hallway that made the mistake, doubt it would have happened if it was a straight hallway.

Just bumping some of the older popular (sometimes not so popular) threads. Probably wont be current discussion these days but I just need to do it. So just ignore the thread if it's not current for you.
