Walked off the job today Very angry!!!!!!

Its so hard to get a good team together when there are multiple trades that have to work together. Sounds like this is a car crash of a team so probably best off out of it.
I spoke to the guys who work for him p.a.y.e and they all said they told him to get it sorted properly, and it seems like i aint the only tiler to walk out on him.

You should get on to the homeowner and tell him the score.
you will probably get the job of fixing it properly and they can retrieve the cost from the builder. I would not hold out much hope of being paid by him, so what harm can it do you, to drop him in the s**t.

Sadly an all too common tale!
well done for sticking to your guns..not easy when someone's putting you in the middle...let him deal with his shoddy work!

I'd be glad not to even be involved with that kind of builder, thats the good thing about being self employed, you have options

you did well peckers and i dont think you could have done much more to be honest i wouldnt expect he will pay you because this guy sounds like abit of a tosser its your reputation on the line

Your well out of it!
Don't get involved with his customers.
He is your client and he is the one who will pay you - but not in this case!
With this type of work I ask the question - Why are they coming to me, who did the work originally and why aren't they putting it right!
It's very difficult to turn down work but you have to make a stand - and you did!

go back to the customer and do it for them direct take pics and let them take action against the builder / yea haw

I wouldn't go anywhere near his customers, you are best keeping a safe distance. Only approach his customers if you hear he is bad mouthing you and trying to ruin your reputation

I think we should stop crediting him with the term ' builder ' . He's doing no-one any good is he and just doesnt care about his work / work carried out under his name. Good for you for telling him what was what Peckers!
