Wall or floor first?

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

just to add, if you do the floor first, then the perimeter expansion gap can be hidden when you drape the wall tiles down to the floor:smilewinkgrin:

That was my thinking when I asked the question, seems its more of a matter of preference than anything.

Floor 1st for me usually. I like to tile onto the ply (or whatever substrate you've used) while it's still clean, to minimise the chance of failure.

Either way , the expansion gap is the same for either method.. once siliconed you cannot tell which way it was done, so use what method works for you, there is no right or wrong way IMHO.. take each job as it comes and do what works best for each job.

Finally got this job finished, although I have to admit I hardly rushed. Many thanks to all on this forum, despite my limited posts, i've picked up some valuable knowledge on both tools and techniques. When I first started I thought to myself how hard can it be? Very would be the answer. Still, happy with the result, and would probably attempt it again, anything more than this and would probably get someone int.
