because you dont know what cant you see, like mine it was cracks, I just thought it was a tile issue, but u knew it was underneath

I can see them pictures now. Water damaged 100%

walls weren't much better no coverage, I redid floor and bench, waterproofing, builder did walls but I watched like a hawk, and provided subcontractor the tools and waterproofing. 2-3 years later no issues

Good thing you fixed it and no longer leaks. I like the marble slab niche.

Here's another Old School Shower Repair done for a customer of mine in Brownstown MI. This shower was leaking downstairs to the room below while the shower was in use.
The customer complained about some missing grout on top of the shower curb potentially causing the leak. It turned out the shower pan liner was cut and nailed down several times, staples everywhere inside the shower, black mold on the drywall causing the water leakage. The ladder mesh throughout the shower and the stainless-steel bolts on top of the drain were rusty contaminating the shower pan liner.

The shower was fixed, converted into a wet room and 100% waterproof.
Fixing these showers takes lots of patience, time consuming, and pain in the back.
These old school showers are the number one selling showers in North America, available on the shelves at any local building supply store, very cheap to buy and the number one builder's choice. In the long run you get dollars back, as they fail in some way or another.
