That would mean having a concrete ceiling to start with though Gary.

splatter coat in slurry follow by a scratch coat in render or mechanical fix eml and then scratch coat but i would say in egypt it would be the first option

All there building in the middle east is concrete & sand cement renders ,as Gary says , Eml would not be an option over there .... can't wait for the pic's.....

Great picture EGYPTIAN , do you have a real name ?, is this a picture of a floor ?, straight on to sand ( the original un-copling membrane ) how strong is the mix of sand -cement 3-1 ?, do you add any other liquids to the sand and cement ? to make it nice to work with !
