Wetroom tray envelope cut setting out challenge

There has to be some kind of joint between the frame and tile so that there a void to fill. If u butt the tile to the frame, u can't actually seal it.
Otherwise it would fill with water, would it not.

I was just wondering if it should be grout or Silicon. I'm getting the distinct feeling that you're leaning toward it being Silicon. 🙂
 
I definitely grouted the schluter one in, as per their instructions, but as it sits over the top of the plastic insert that sits over the top of the kerdi I'm sure in that case it would be fine.
Your system looks different, so it looks like sealant would be best.
 
1st drawing looks best to me, although how would it work shifting it all half a tile (drain centre of a tile)?
Also,I'd take the bottom 'envelope' cuts to the corners of the former, not at 45° to the drain.

I would Silicon between tiles and drain, just allows for any movement.
