38m2 of 330 x 330 porcelain floor tiles. 12mm ply has been laid over original fllor boards. UFH by plumber underneath that.

The ply boards met in different heights. And to cap it all off, they wanted an old area of tiles left, so another height!

It was awful. I started off on the original tiles, then onto the ply building up as much as I dared.

I told the lady there would be slight movement between the areas, but I'm not happy.

As I went over the various ply's, between a 1.8m length, the level I was using, I had about a 1mm- to nearly 2mm bow in the centre of the level. Is that acceptable in the circumstances, or should have I got it spot on? I'm really frustrated today................:furious3:

No probs mate..up-to 3mm is acceptable..obviously the flatter the better but that will be ok.....where the ply meets the old tiles is the movement there?.. you might need to put an expansion joint there.....just a thought.....good luck..

Thanks for that Dave, put my mind at ease a bit!! Re the expansion joints, the way the plumber has laid them, they are not uniform................:furious3: all over the show.

dont you just love them eh??.. Its ok mrs the tiler will get over that......:furious3:

The funny thing is, over the ' humps ' I get the dips in the tiles, but the other way their dead flat !

Just use a big nothed trowel and back butter to get a good solid bed.....let us know how you get on....
