What is this bathroom ceiling

Hi guys, can somebody tell me what is this ceiling This has been posted by Stewart, in my thread, I tried to contact him but no luck, no answer:incazzato:. I know this is pvc ceiling but do not know name of it or where to buy it. It doesnt look like v-groove ceiling. I like it as I can not see any joinst on it. Can anybody help me, please

My plumber has been fitting this to ceilings and also walls instead of tiles as I now live in Essex. I dont know what the longevity of it is like nor how long it will last in wet areas ie around baths and such like.

It seems to be taking off in the Alnwick where I used to live. I'm not keen on it though howver I am biased !

I work for a pub chain who have pubs and hotels they get me to tile the ceilings in the kitchens but now they use these panels ,has done me right out of a job,some of the ceilings I was doing had 70 mtrs on them.

I doubt I could bring myself to instal a plastic covering anywhere in a home no matter how good it looks, how much does one of these ceilings cost to install in an average bathroom? You could get a Venetian marble ceiling for arround 300 that imo looks far better + its not plastic!

for that size it take an hour to install if running with the ceiling after finding the joists. silicon and screws. probs around £60 for the price I was getting it for but mine had chrome strips running through the centres.

Back to my question, can I use halogen 35W downlights or is it going to damaged the plastic?

hi kilty, had to go to London for the training last year (gold trowel)... Only place that teaches it using authentic materials, I believe there are other places that teach using the cheaper acrylics. Only done a few jobs now but with very good results, one more recently was a curved bar area gantry in an Indian restaurant! It's truly stunning stuff but can be very tricky to get right, I made some small mistakes but I'm learning from them.... You know about the Venetian then mate?

I wouldn't recommend halogen i've tested a 50w in a cut off before and it melted go for an 8w led bulb thats what we use they dont give off any heat and are bright not to cheap tho.
