just finshed tiling a wall in a bathroom, stepped back to admire my handy work fell backwards over my cutter put my arm out to steady myself ,didnt see the 6inch rusty nail sticking out the wall, it went right into my forarm and then ripped downwards leaving a lovely 5 inch hole, showed it to the customer who nearly fainted ,she gave me a tea towel to wrap round it and i drove to A and E , 12 stitches and a tetnis jab ,she never did ask for that tea towel back !

broke my wrist working in spennymoor trying to retrieve mortar boards from a skip, spent the afternoon in darlington hospital where no one could understand my accent, also took the tip of my finger off with an old 9" concrete block and not long ago a brand new saw jumped when i was checking out the doorway on a sheet of play and went through my thumb!
nowadays i get wrapped in cotton wool at 7.30am so i don't hurt myself:drool5:

Time's Ran Out

Cut finger, fallen off ladders from 1st floor, knealt on screw etc.

But a couple of years ago I was working on a job with a plumber who had taken a cast iron soil pipe down from the side of a house.
He smashed the pipe and while looking up the whole top section came down on his forehead:yikes: He had a 150mm (6inch) circle cut into his brow.
Dripping with blood he drove himself to the hospital and was back before finish time to clear up the mess!
Me squemish! Nah!

The Legend; Phil Hobson RIP

Many years ago, (how come most of my posts start with that) must be my age:lol: I was laying a semi-dry 4-1 sand and cement screed. I had two other tilers labouring on me, one mixing, one on the barrow. I was screeding, by brew time 9.30am I had got down approx 70m2. This is the old method, so Ajax, no laughing. During brew I noticed some pain in my knees. Dropping my jeans I saw I had bad chemical burns to both knees.

It took months for my knees to recover, every time I bent down the scabs opened up again. I had just moved in to a new neighbourhood, and found out months later that my new neighbours referred to me as that cripple lad who moved into no 30, It took ages for me to walk right again, I still have the scars:yikes:
