Best:
Rubi washboy from CTD (was on offer for about £32 ish)
365 drill bits, bloody things just somehow last forever

Worst:
Tile scibe from Netto, i know i know but it was about a pound so had to try it :)

I hated my Rubi washboy, you have to fill it way to full to use it because the grid is so high, and the wheel kept falling off :incazzato:

Karl Dahm / Bal one i have now is so much better :hurray:

Hi Derber what make is the non self leveling laser you have ive got one somewhere its a Makita played about it with it once crap, water level and chalk line would be quicker and more accurate.

Best: Washboy, couldn't be without it now earns its corn on every job. Marshaltown grout float, so much better than the cheapies.

Worst: cheap laser level, just got me into trouble. Profile gauge, fiddly got covered in addy, quicker to measure and mark

Best....hard to pick, but probably Washboy
Worst...without a doubt the cheap laser level that I was talked into buying in Topps...should have realised when they were being sold cheap!

monty 75 cutter
autocross laser
rodia bridge cutter
sparky mixer

Worst:
k/d washboy , sorry guys i know you are all fans of washboys but i just cant get on with it ,especially in bathrooms its too big and fiddly , not too bad on large floors though, ill stick with my bal sponges....

Re: Whats the best and worst gadges you've ever brought for tiling???

Best: Bought a Dewalt 18v impact driver and an angle grinder for £100, Washboy, Wedges. Couldn't work without these 4 things now.

Worst: There is definately a trend happening here, Cheap laser level! tile-right water pump for drilling and Mapei white grout (Hate the stuff!)

Best is Stanley self levelling laser level which fits neatly unto a tripod from a Draper value laser level (which was a gift, thx but.....) red wedges greaaatttt...

Worst. mitre trim cutter...utter poo poo.
Large Blue tile cutter from topps which had little rubber strips on the underside of the metal base which were stuck on with something really tacky and annoying,(in the skip now)

Re: Whats the best and worst gadges you've ever brought for tiling???

Best: makita hand grinder as I use it for everything (even manage to cut small pipe holes with it). The dewalt 18V drill, use for most jobs from mixing to drilling real hard concrete. trim mitre box by quansol. And a cheap rubber grout float I got from Japan one time I was there.
Thinking of getting a wash boy now after reading all the good feedback about them also, is Karl Dam the one to go for??

Worst: Cheap wet saw I have only used once (from car boot sale for a 10a.... think the cold got to me that day!). trim cutters that are no good for nothing & a Stanley toolbox that wont shut if anything is sticking up the slightest!!
